Worship in the Street
July 7, 2013, LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) -
"As churches we are so often tied to our particular buildings, our particular denominations, our particular traditions," First Christian Church Pastor Christopher Geiger said. The binds of buildings, denominations, and traditions were broken Sunday for four churches in Downtown Lafayette. First Baptist, First Christian, St. John's Episcopal, and Trinity United Methodist churches joined together for a service on the street. The four churches were built within 15 years of each other between 1824 and 1839. Pastors said the history makes Lafayette's faith community a good one to be part of.
